"My childhood memory highlights (dating back to when I was a toddler) have stuck with me for the longest time, and I wanted to do something with them. So, I decided to design a non-conventional book that documents the memories and their corresponding emotions through typography.

The What I Remember

The What I Remember

The What I Remember is a hand-crafted, "meta" concertina book. It is called a meta book because it is a hybrid between a process documentation and what the final book could have turned out to be. The content of this typographical book shares transparent and honest personal thoughts, experiences, and the different stages of my childhood memories. They are written in a tone as if I am verbally sharing my stories with the reader.

In the making of designing this book, I intended to stray away from the conventional single-sized page book with a spine and wanted to experiment the different forms a book can come in. I became interested to experiment in creating a multi-sized concertina book and exploring type pacing to typographically convey my written content.
